The Social follows an ensemble of dancers, lovers, outsiders, and seekers who gather at a Latin dance social on Maui. As the music builds, rivalries surface, connections form, and relationships shift with every step on and beyond the floor. It’s a story about dance not as performance, but as language: the way strangers find each other, if only for a night.
Three ways to make your mark. However you move, there’s a spot on the floor with your name on it.
One lead and one follow will win in each category. Solo dancers are welcome to enter. Dance couples are encouraged to try out together.

The heart of The Social. Winners take the floor as featured characters, dancing on camera and delivering lines that move the story forward. A true dual role for performers who can hold a scene as well as a beat.
Official IMDb acting credits. A permanent record of your work as a performer, on screen and on the floor.
Round-trip domestic flights to Maui, covered. One less thing between you and your role. International dancers welcome. Flights covered from the US mainland to Hawaii only.
Home base for the shoot. Winners are provided accommodations on Maui for the duration of filming, so you can focus on the role, not the logistics.

Download the official Film End Card below. Place it at the very end of your dance video for at least 3 seconds. Keep your scene read separate; you'll upload it in step 05.

Post your dance video to Instagram or TikTok, wherever you have the most exposure. Include the official audition hashtag below and tag us so we can find it. Then upload your scene read with the button on the right.
Submit Your Scene Read
Upload your scene read to YouTube or Vimeo and set it to Unlisted, not Private, so we can watch it. Copy the link to submit your audition. Keep the video up until casting is announced.

No. We are looking for authenticity and screen presence as much as technique.
Anyone aged 18 or older can enter. Solo dancers and couples are welcome. The roles in the audition scenes range in age from 18 to 80.
Both. Couples are encouraged to audition together, and solo dancers are welcome. One lead and one follow are chosen in each category, so partners may be selected individually.

Yes. An entry does not prevent you from being considered for other roles in the film. Casting priority generally goes to local talent, though we’re always open to standout applicants with acting experience or a strong following.
Yes. Round-trip flights between the US mainland and Maui are covered. International dancers are welcome, but travel to the US mainland is not covered. Maui accommodations are provided during filming, subject to final production agreements.
Yes, family members are welcome to join, but travel and accommodations for anyone beyond the selected talent are at your own expense. Also keep in mind featured dancers should expect a real time commitment on set — around one full 8-hour day — so family joining should be prepared to entertain themselves during filming.
Filming is planned for Early 2027 on Maui. Exact dates will be shared directly with selected performers.
Winners should expect one full 8 hour day on set.
